As many suspected, the extensive Skype outage last week was a result of instability in Skype’s P2P network. What’s a bit of a surprise is that the instability was caused by a cascading failure resulting from the large number of out-of-rev Windows clients on the network, many of which were running as super nodes in the P2P network.
